Planning a Green Bar or Bat Mitzvah
Thoughtful parents and teens these days are thinking a lot about the environment and the world at large. When planning a big event like a Bar/Bat Mitzvah, why not go green? There are organizations that are leading the way towards planning events that blend a degree of activism in with Judaism. If you plan a green Bar/Bat Mitzvah, your guests not only will have a great time at your event, but they will feel better about themselves in the process. One of the organizations leading the way towards creating Green celebrations, is Jews United for Justice in Washington D.C. Many Bar/Bat Mitzvahs in Washington DC have taken this organization’s advice and incorporated their tips. After all in the Jewish tradition is the concept of “tikkun olam” or repairing the world. As Jews United for Justice points out “as Jews we have a responsibility to alleviate the suffering of the oppressed, both within and outside our community.” See, going green is actually part of the Jewish tradition! On the Jews United for Justice website you can download a booklet they created to provide suggestions for going green. The book describes how over 40 families planning Bar/Bat Mitzvahs in DC and Bar/Bat Mitzvahs in Maryland used creative thinking to go green. If you live in the Washington metro area, you can get one of these guides free. Just visit http://www.jufj.org/green_just_celebrations. Green thinking can be integrated into Washington DC Bar/Bat Mitzvah DJs, Bar/Bat Mitzvah venues, Bar/Bat Mitzvah invitations and more. The booklet will be sure to spark your imagination as to what you can do to help. Even if you can only integrate a few of these ideas into your event, you will be doing your part to make a difference. Labels: Party Tips and Tricks

Bonnie's Bat Mitzvah in Rockville, MD
Bonnie's Bat Mitzvah was an amazing affair for guests of all ages this past Saturday afternoon. With pink balloons decorating Lakewood Country Club in Rockville, MD - Bonnie and her friends and family danced, and danced, and then danced a little more! During the cocktail hour, Bonnie's friends paid tribute to their friend by sharing special presentations the had put together. When the ballroom opened, Bonnie was introduced, by MC Brian, to "Dangerous" by Kardinal Offishall. Brian then helped Bonnie come up with the "Bonnie Dance" that all of her guests were able to follow. Creating a custom dance is a great way to make your party different from all the others! Unlike most Bat Mitzvah's we entertain at, this one provided a sit-down meal for all the guests. There was no crowded buffet line in site! As guests finished up their meals, we presented a very special montage to Bonnie that had been created by her father. The montage looked great, and the crowd cheered their approval at the end. Brian and his three dancers continued to wow the crowd following the montage with all sorts of new and exciting activities. From custom dances, to creative prizes, to just having a great time - everyone at Bonnie's party agreed that her "Pretty in Pink" affair was an amazing afternoon! Liz's Bat Mitzvah in Rockville, MD
It was Liz's time to shine on Saturday afternoon at Temple Beth Ami in Rockville, MD. Her Bat Mitzvah celebration was hosted by MC Todd from Electric Entertainment. Todd met with Liz and her family prior to the party to create a flowing time line, discuss song and game specifics, and generally make sure Liz and her family were really able to just show up an enjoy their party. This type of service, and of course his incredibly energetic performances, are what make MC Todd one of the most sought after entertainers in Maryland, Washington DC, and Virginia. Liz was introduced to a high-energy version of "I Want Candy". The sweetness that was Liz's party didn't end there! Guests were treated to party classics, such as the Cha Cha Slide and the Cupid Shuffle - along with a customize dance that Todd and his dancers designed just for Liz. Even though the party was in the afternoon - guests were shaking the dance floor like it was a huge Saturday night shindig. After all, it's the DJ talent that will make your party outstanding - that's what we do at Electric Entertainment! Thanks to Barry from Barry C. Caitlin's Bat Mitzvah in Washington, DC
Caitlin's "Black and White" affair was the hottest party in Washington DC on Saturday night. MC Brian and his crew of three dancers kept Caitlin, and almost 80 of her friends, moving on the dance floor all night long without a pause. Guests were treated to the music of the Machaya Klezmer band as they entered the Josephine Butler Parks Center in Washington DC. Electric Entertainment provided our Holographix fun photos for Caitlin's Bat Mitzvah cocktail hour. Following cocktail hour, the real festivities began. Our plasma displays and custom lighting package lit up the room for everyone - and the energy we brought transcended to every single guest. Caitlin wanted all dancing, no games, and that's what she got. When I got home, at 2AM, I already had an e-mail in my inbox from a future Bar Mitzvah family of Electric Entertainment - they told me it was the best party they'd ever been to. That's what we do at Electric Entertainment. Mazel Tov Caitlin! Labels: Bar and Bat Mitzvah Celebrations

Stephanie's Sweet Shoppe took over the VisArts Center in Rockville, MD on Saturday night. Electric Entertainment provided all sorts of goodies for Stephanie. For starters, we transformed the room by adding some color using pink and green uplights. We then brought in a customized lighting solution that lit up the dance floor all night long. MC Brian was on hand to lead the festivities and make sure this Bat Mitzvah party was rockin' all night long! The party began with Stephanie and her friends in the main party room. They were treated to a variety of games, as well as some of the hottest new dance music out there. By the time the adults came in, this party was already going strong. We then introduced Stephanie and her family - following it up with a custom dance that Stephanie's family created, and dance contest between guests on the dance floor. After the motzi and kiddish were recited - the party continued without delay. A delicious meal was served, a great time was had by all, and I can't forget that amazing "Candy Bar" for all of Stephanie's friends.
